  1. Are you the same Christopher Hurt who narrated Atlas Shrugged? I’m really enjoying it and the cadence and enunciation strongly reminds me of the way a lot of older people spoke when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s — people who would have been young in the 40s and 50s.

    1. That’s me, Bill. It seems that narrating Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead are what most people identify me with, although I narrated a lot of other books as well that I’m awfully proud of. I might be a little younger than you are imagining, but I did have a pretty mature voice even in my 20’s and 30’s when I started out in audio books.

      1. Oh, I had no idea what your age actually is, I figured you were voicing the generation of the characters in the story. I’ll certainly keep an ear out for other books you’ve done. I actually had a different audio version of Atlas Shrugged but I returned it — the style and quality of narration makes a huge difference with an audio book. I like your version very much!

    1. I’m not a huge fan of Ayn Rand, but did enjoy putting together those stories when I was narrating them (it took a looooong time). I also remember really liking Humboldt’s Gift, The Moviegoer, and The Manchurian Candidate. I narrated them all around the same time, I believe.

  2. I listened to The Moviegoer solely because I loved your narration of The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Thanks for leading me to that book. I will look for your others, love your work.

    1. You should be able to do a narrator search on Audible (or most other sites with audiobooks), but I’ll see if I can pull together a list – I have one on my computer *somewhere* – and post it along with my list of theater roles.
